WALLS began the day I felt unable to go on. Immobile, I remembered a phrase I read years ago: “Life means walking along a very narrow wall; on one side is the fairy tale, and on the other the abyss.” At that moment I realised that I had fallen into the abyss.
For a while I was afraid of simply living. But one fine day I decided to find a way of climbing back onto this wall that was cutting me off from life. And this was how Walls came about: a photographic project in the form of a sequence showing the transformation of a single space, in parallel to my own emotional transformation.
